The Pyramid is the office of the architectural practice Dransfield Owen Da’Silva. Built on an existing foundation the structure is surrounded by offices and provides a striking contrast between modern structural forms and the traditional structures around. The steel frame and soffit of the concrete deck are exposed internally and the design has been performed to minimise floor and finish depths to give the maximum available headroom with the three levels of accomodation it provides.
Mini truss systems were used to frame the timber cladding panels between floor plates, crossed to provide additional bracing to keep member sizes to a minimum.
