Rolling Bridge

As part of the master plan for the development, three original bridges by three separate teams were commissioned to create street level points of interest. In collaboration with The Heatherwick Studio, we conceived the idea of an opening bridge that became an interesting, but different, piece of public art in its open and closed configurations.

Uniquely, this bridge rolls into a perfect hexagon when not in use forming an object that is as resolved and complete as it is when spanning the canal.
